Negative Nancy’s & Nathan’s

Disclosure: As I named this blog, it’s funny because one of the most positive and loving people I know are  Nancy & Nathan. She is a great co-worker and he was a classmate. They are people who I will hold close to my heart until it stops beating. The End

We tie ourselves to heaven or hell beginning with our thoughts. Our thoughts are what come out of our mouths. If it is not good, great, awesome; and,  adding; life, Love, and Light to the world, why say it? “No”, is not a bad thing when it’s said in love as honestly as possible. “Yes”, is simple and gets right to the point. So keep things as simple as possible by speaking with yes’s, no’s, or positive expressions.

Sometimes we allow negative people in our world and sometimes we cannot avoid them. While some people don’t even know they’re being negative, others make it their business to be. Scary to me either way. IF it is not positive and uplifting, 9 times out of 10 it is negative and discouraging. Today’s society {with all types of social media} has given every half a brain a voice (some brilliant minds as well). I hear all types of excuses. “I’m just saying”, “I’m just keeping it real”, “Well, it’s the truth”, etc. Which just translates to: “I don’t take accountability for my own thoughts or words.” BEWARE……

“Keep your thoughts positive because your thoughts become your words. Keep your words positive because your words become your behavior. Keep your behavior positive because your behavior becomes your habits. Keep your habits positive because your habits become your values. Keep your values positive because your values become your destiny.”
― Mahatma Gandhi

We have to recognize the Negative Nancy’s and Nathan’s, and work to remove them from our daily agenda. When we feed into the negativity and negative behavior it depletes us. We cannot be our best allowing others to deplete us. Sadly some of the most negative Nancy’s and Nathan’s are in our immediate family. Those are the ones I referred to as “not able to avoid”. They are the best people to practice evasive techniques so you figure out how NOT to engage Nancy or Nathan.

Not one of us can avoid them {Nancy & Nathan}. But we don’t have to allow them to stay on the front row of our lives. Learning to manage Nancy and Nathan effectively can help us shine even brighter. Too much negativity will adversely affect you. Sometimes it just makes you feel bad. At other times it could be worse: making you into a negative Nancy or Nathan.

Don’t let Nancy or Nathan get the best of you. Treat them with kindness and only deal with them in short increments of time when possible. Otherwise, just smile and say nothing. Today has been my day of smiling and rejoicing despite it all. Hope the same for you today, tomorrow, and throughout this wonderful year!!
